Sizing.
General sizing notes {in inches} for AD garments. Please view each individual listing for specific sizing notes.
For alphanumeric sizing, please measure the fullest part of your bust. Subtract the measurement of your underbust/rib, from the fullest part of your bust. Every inch different is a cup letter size, and your underbust/rib measurement, is the band size.
EX:
Underbust measured 36”
Fullest measured 40”
40-36=4
A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4
So, the alphanumeric bra size should be 36D !
Nuances to the rule:
If you measure between two band numbers—it is generally better to go to the higher band size, and a cup size lower, ie 38C
If the above were the case, but you have fuller breast tissue, however—you may want to stick with the original cup measurement, ie 38D
In more specific cases, if you were only, say 1/4” more than a band {ie. you measured 36 1/4 “} and prefer a more snug fit, keeping the 36 band and D cup.
If you do not prefer a snug fit, but you only measured 1/4” more, you could try 38C
With all this said, please note, there are certain styles that may fit certain breast/body types more than others, based upon your general preference—ie Balcony/Balconette bras for breasts that sit lower, plunge bras for folx with wider shoulder spans, etc. {key word being preference!! the end look and how YOU feel in the garment makes the final decision!}
This is not a conclusive list and nuances can be quite daunting! We suggest you contact us for a fitting, or some over the phone guidance if you need assistance! Please note, bra fitting can be a bit of a testy craft, so we cannot guarantee that any particular bra/style will fit exactly as you like.
